House arrest for 2 suspects in incident where engineer was hospitalized after drinking coffee
In Beyoğlu, house arrest and a travel ban have been imposed on 2 suspects regarding an incident where a young engineer fell ill and was hospitalized after drinking coffee at a cafe.
According to allegations, 26-year-old engineer Ayben Ö.T. went to a cafe in the Ömer Avni neighborhood of Beyoğlu with friends yesterday around 1:00 PM and ordered coffee.
Employee M.A. (50) prepared the order using a bottle in which business owner E.Ö. (52) had placed dish soap instead of coffee.
The young woman fell ill after drinking the coffee and went to the hospital. While medical teams determined that the woman had been poisoned, police teams launched an investigation into the incident.
Following the investigation by police teams, E.Ö. (52), M.A. (50), G.S.Ö. (26), and S.N.Ö. (28) were taken into custody.
The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their police interrogations.
Following their statements to the prosecutor's office, house arrest and a travel ban were imposed on M.A. and S.N.Ö., while judicial control measures were ordered for the other two suspects.
