MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE ANNOUNCED
Breaking news regarding the 2025 minimum wage increase has arrived one after another. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which was previously announced to meet on Thursday or Friday, is meeting for the 4th time this evening following a surprise decision. The meeting, chaired by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, began at 20:30.
MINISTER IŞIKHAN ANNOUNCED THE MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE: 22,104 TL!
Minister Işıkhan's statement is as follows;
"We have come together to announce the minimum wage. Let us not forget that every wage paid with fairness also increases the abundance and productivity of businesses. Being fair to our employees is a necessity for stability. We are aiming for social welfare in the vision of the Century of Turkey. Protecting and increasing the purchasing power of our citizens with fixed incomes and making the prosperity we have achieved permanent is our most important goal.
While taking steps to raise the welfare level of our citizens, we are conducting a determined fight against exorbitant price increases.
Our goal is to protect the purchasing power of all segments of society.
This year's minimum wage meetings were held within the framework of the tripartite social dialogue mechanism, as always.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the unions and institutions that contributed to our commission's work. I would like to extend my greatest thanks to President Erdoğan, who led our decision to protect the worker, the employer, and employment at the same time. I wish the minimum wage to be beneficial to all our citizens. I would like to share it with you now. It was 17,002 TL in 2024. Now, we have determined it as 22,104 TL."
