Hrant Dink's killer Ogün Samast appears in court
Ogün Samast, who murdered Agos Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink, arrived at the Trabzon Courthouse to attend the hearing in Istanbul via the SEGBIS system, where he is being tried on charges of 'committing a crime on behalf of the FETÖ armed terrorist organization without being a member of it,' facing a potential prison sentence of 5 to 10 years.
Ogün Samast, who carried out the assassination of Agos Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink and was released on November 15, 2023, continues to be tried in a case involving 11 defendants linked to the FETÖ terrorist organization.
Samast, who arrived at the Trabzon Courthouse to connect via the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBIS) to the hearing held at the Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court, had previously attended the hearing on October 16, 2024, using the same method.

In that hearing, the court ruled for the continuation of Ogün Samast's judicial control measures and adjourned the hearing to January 10, 2025, for the announcement of the verdict.
