HTS: Operations in Syria have ended

The Ministry of Defense of the interim administration established by the jihadist group HTS in Syria has announced that the attacks targeting the country's coastline have concluded. Ministry of Defense spokesperson Hussein Abdulghani stated that the military operations carried out in the cities of Tartus and Latakia have been completed.

Abdulghani stated the following:

"Our forces have neutralized the remnants of the ousted regime in the villages of Muhtariyye, Muzayria, and Zubara in Latakia province, as well as in the villages of Dalye, Tanita, and Kadmous in Tartus province."

'ATTACKS CONTINUE IN SOME REGIONS'

Although the statement from the HTS Ministry of Defense claimed that 'operations have ended,' the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that attacks are continuing in some areas. It was noted that looting is ongoing in the coastal city of Baniyas, which is predominantly inhabited by Alawites, and that living conditions are steadily deteriorating.

While it is stated that 973 people have lost their lives in the attacks carried out in the cities and rural areas of Latakia, Tartus, Baniyas, and Masyaf, footage of executions from the villages is also being shared on social media.
