Hulusi Akar, Chairman of the TBMM National Defense Commission and AKP Kayseri Deputy, made statements regarding the current agenda during a television program he attended. Speaking about a terror-free Turkey, Akar stated that efforts are continuing meticulously, saying, "We have made and continue to make efforts regarding the fight against terrorism for 40 years. The Mehmetçik (Turkish soldiers) have performed a very successful duty in this regard. We have had our martyrs and veterans. However, we have never given up here. When we look back, there was a pause in 2014 under the name of the 'solution process.' The terrorists saw this as a weakness. This was not a weakness.
This was done with the intention of having them surrender with remorse within the framework of the law and the legal system, and to resolve this issue in some way. This was a compassionate hand of the state. However, it was seen as a weakness. This process continued until July 24, 2015. During this process, there were attacks and losses.
Therefore, with these occurrences, operations began again. On February 27, 2025, Imralı made a statement. It said, 'Dissolve the organization, lay down your arms.' On May 12, 2025, the organization said, 'I am laying down my arms, I am dissolving the organization.' What is intended is to save our country from this scourge that has been upon us for 40 years, consuming the energy of our nation and our country. While these things are being done, concessions and bargaining are absolutely out of the question," he said.
"A terror-free Turkey should not be made into political fodder"
Expressing that a terror-free Turkey should not be used as political fodder, Akar said, "Some political parties and some individuals from these political parties are exploiting certain issues for their own personal and political goals. They are distorting some issues. Everyone needs to come to their senses on this matter and not make the issue of a terror-free Turkey political fodder. Polemics regarding this should not be entered into. The main issue here is the security and welfare of 86 million people and the security of our land," he stated.
"Let our youth bring us projects"
Stating that they will provide all the support they can if young entrepreneurs bring them projects, Akar said, "We have provided support to our youth as much as we can in various initiatives, not just in Kayseri, but in many places. They entered a business, they did a job. We continue once there is a project. We will have R&D with loyalty, mobilizing our own resources, and by setting a concrete goal, a project will emerge. We will lead the way for our youth who have projects in administrative, judicial, and financial matters as much as we can. We will fight for this together with them. As long as our youth, our children, put forward a project. And they should not be afraid while putting forward a project," he said.
