Hulusi Akar's statement on the fight against terrorism

The 45th Anniversary Award Ceremony, organized by the Kayseri Journalists Association for the January 10 Working Journalists Day, was held.

Attending the ceremony, Chairman of the TBMM National Defense Commission Hulusi Akar touched upon the fight against terrorism. Noting that the struggle will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized, Akar said, "The benefits and contributions of our press are immense.

We see very serious cooperation on critical issues, from the fight against terrorism on one side to developments in Syria on the other, and the benefits of this for our state and nation. The fight against terrorism continues. Let no one have any doubt about this. It will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized. Hopefully, we will rid our noble nation of this scourge that has plagued it for 40 years. This trouble will end by neutralizing the last terrorist," he said.

Addressing the developments in Syria, Akar stated, "On the other hand, as Turkey, we have provided and continue to provide our contributions regarding issues such as Syria's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Our wish is to live our lives together with them within the framework of a fraternal, good-neighborly, independent, sovereign, and democratic Syria. This is our effort," he said.

"WE MUST TEACH THEM A LESSON WITH A BOYCOTT"

Speaking about Israel's attacks on Palestine, Akar said, "On the other hand, we have shown our sensitivity in every environment regarding the actions of the Zionazi Netanyahu gang, and we will continue to do so. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the most important message we will give here is an immediate ceasefire. Our press needs to be very careful about this. Our most important task is to stop the bombs raining down on the people there, including the children in incubators, as soon as possible. In parallel with this, another task is that our nation and the whole world must teach them a lesson with a boycott," he said.

Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek also expressed that the members of the press in the city are in unity, saying, "In Kayseri, we are all fighting a great struggle together within the framework of being colleagues, so that Kayseri can be heard in Turkey, shine with tourism, and take its place with industry. We are working together, especially so that the name of our Kayseri is always mentioned in good places. When the issue of the events in Syria arose, the journalists in Kayseri had such a sensitive stance that they had a sensitive stance that did not provoke the issues here, and was clear and in no way put our city and country in trouble," he said.

Journalists Association President Metin Kösedağ also stated, "The fragmentation of journalists' associations, which number 3-4 in many provinces today, has brought many problems with it. This situation is different in Kayseri. Even though there have been occasional conflicts among our members, they have never harmed the institutional structure of our association. Throughout history, everyone has protected their association. Today, that association embraces and protects its members," he said.
