Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s son, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, struck motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer from behind with his car at the Eurasia Tunnel Aksaray exit on November 30. Göçer, who was severely injured in the accident, lost his 6-day battle for life at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

HE FLED THE COUNTRY ON DECEMBER 2

In the expert report prepared regarding the accident, the Somali President's son, Mohamud, was found to be “primarily at fault.” Although the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Mohamud, it was revealed that the suspect had fled the country on December 2.

MOTORCYCLE COURIERS RISE UP

Following the scandal, motorcycle couriers announced that they would hold a ‘Justice Ride’ for Yunus Emre Göçer.

According to a report by Murat Uysal from Evrensel, the motorcycle couriers who set off from the Zincirlikuyu metrobus bridge gathered in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse for their colleague Yunus Emre Göçer.
