Nebi Hatipoğlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party to join the AKP and is the AKP's candidate for Mayor of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality in the March 31, 2024 local elections, introduced his project, which he named the 'Modern Animal Shelter and Paw Club,' on March 5.

Speaking at the meeting where he introduced the project, Hatipoğlu stated, “With the Paw Club, we will provide a modern shelter for our dear friends. We will carry out neutering and all kinds of care through our municipality. We will open our shelters to the public with the understanding of 'adopt, don't shop.' With the paw clubs to be established rapidly under our administration, we will completely eliminate the stray dog problem in our city. We will not confine our dear friends to areas where they will be hopeless in the mud.”

According to a report by Özge Zaim from İstikbal Gazetesi, five days after the presentation, photos of Hatipoğlu hunting deer and wild boar emerged.

In the photos, Hatipoğlu is seen smiling while posing behind a dead deer and a dead wild boar in a forest, and he is also seen pointing at the dead animals with his finger.
