'I saw you with my sister,' he said, before stabbing him to death
A dispute in Gaziosmanpaşa, Istanbul, ended in bloodshed. Serhat K. stabbed and killed Murat Yaşar, who was the same age as him, after seeing him with his sister on the street. The suspect, who fled the scene, was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by the police.
In an incident that took place yesterday in the Gaziosmanpaşa district, 25-year-old Serhat K. allegedly spotted Murat Yaşar, who was with his sister, while he was walking.
A verbal argument then broke out between the two. As the argument escalated, Serhat K. pulled a knife from his pocket and attacked Murat Yaşar. Yaşar collapsed to the ground after being stabbed in both legs. The attacker then fled the scene.
Bystanders who witnessed the fight immediately notified health and police teams. Upon arriving at the scene, medical teams provided initial treatment to the critically injured Murat Yaşar before transporting him to the hospital by ambulance. Despite all efforts by doctors, the 25-year-old man lost his life at the hospital.
The incident was captured second-by-second on a business's security camera. The police, who did not let the case go, identified and apprehended Serhat K. based on the footage from the security cameras. While judicial proceedings have been initiated against the suspect, the police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
