The identities of 8 of the 10 people who died in the chain traffic accident in Mersin have been determined.

Autopsy procedures have been completed for 8 of the 10 people who lost their lives in the accident that occurred yesterday evening near the Yenice neighborhood of the TAG Highway.

It was determined that Ozan Kılıç, Serhat Taraman, Elif Taraman, Birsen Çiftsüren, Mehmet Kaplan, Halil Şimşek, Taha Acet, and Ayla Çelik Teymen were among those who lost their lives.

It was learned that the bodies will be sent to Adana and Diyarbakır for burial following the procedures.

TREATMENT OF THE INJURED CONTINUES

Of the 40 people injured in the accident, 13 are being treated at Tarsus State Hospital, 7 at Mersin City Training and Research Hospital, 14 at Adana City Training and Research Hospital, 3 at Çukurova State Hospital, and 3 at a private hospital in Tarsus.

It was stated that 8 of the injured are in critical condition.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On the TAG Highway near the Yenice neighborhood, a passenger bus with license plate 34 SD 8821 belonging to the Star Diyarbakır company crossed into the opposite lane and collided with 2 cars and 1 truck, after which another accident occurred in the same area. In the first accident, 10 people lost their lives and 34 were injured, while 6 people were injured in the subsequent accident. Traffic flow on the highway, which was disrupted for a long time following the accident, returned to normal after the vehicles were removed.
