İGDAŞ General Manager Çolak resigns from his post

İGDAŞ General Manager Ali Ender Çolak has resigned from his position, citing health issues. Çolak is the second high-level executive to resign from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) in a short period.

İGDAŞ General Manager Çolak resigns from his post

Ali Ender Çolak, General Manager of the İBB subsidiary İGDAŞ, has resigned from his post. It was reported that Çolak resigned citing health issues. Having served as the CEO of Baymak for many years, Çolak is the second professional executive to resign from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) recently, following Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar.

WHO IS ALİ ENDER ÇOLAK?

Starting his career at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK), Çolak served as an expert, department head, and finally as the vice chairman of the board at this institution between 1989 and 2008. During this period, Çolak, who also managed the processes for the establishment of the Private Pension System and Corporate Governance Principles, was also a member of the OECD Corporate Governance Steering Committee and Advisory Boards. Ender Çolak also served as the co-chairman of the twinning project for the harmonization of capital markets with the European Union.

Serving as the Vice President responsible for Finance and Renewable Energy at Anel Group between 2008 and 2011, and as the CEO of Baymak, BDR Thermea Group between 2011 and 2023, Çolak completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences and his master's degree in the United States at the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a Master of International Management degree. He also completed the Toronto Centre Leadership Program, IFC Housing Finance Program, World Bank Contractual Savings Program, NACD Director Professionalism Program, and finally the Wharton School Corporate Governance Program.

Ender Çolak, who has been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences on Capital Markets, Energy, Corporate Governance, and Sustainability, is also a member of the Turkish National Paralympic Committee.
