İlave TV owner Arif Kocabıyık detained: Known for street interviews
YouTuber Arif Kocabıyık announced that he has been detained. In a post on his social media account, Kocabıyık stated that police officers who came to his home took him to the police station.
Arif Kocabıyık, the owner of İlave TV, known for the political street interviews he produces on YouTube, reported that he was detained by teams that arrived at his home. Kocabıyık, who was nominated as a parliamentary candidate by the İYİ Party in the 2023 General Elections, was known for his interviews containing criticisms of the government.
Kocabıyık announced his detention with the following statement:
'Police officers just came to my house; there is an arrest warrant out for me, I am going to the police station.'
WHO IS ARIF KOCABIYIK?
Arif Kocabıyık was born in 1983 in the Elmalı district of Antalya. After completing his education at a vocational high school, he worked for a time as a wedding photographer and as a security guard.
In 2018, he stepped into the media sector by founding the YouTube channel named İlave TV together with his brother-in-law, Turan Kural. The channel reached a wide audience during the 2019 Turkish local elections process and drew attention, particularly with its political interviews.
