Illegal betting operation: 120 suspects apprehended

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 120 suspects were apprehended in 16 provinces during the "Sibergöz-14" operations targeting those organizing illegal betting and gambling on football and other sports events.

Yerlikaya stated the following:

"120 suspects were apprehended in the 'SİBERGÖZ-14' operation, which was carried out simultaneously in 16 provinces for the crimes of Opposition to the Law on the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions (Law No. 7258), Laundering Assets Derived from Crime, Laundering Proceeds of Crime, and Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes!"
