Illegal betting operation in 7 provinces! Money traffic revealed

The Ministry of Interior announced that an operation targeting illegal betting crimes was carried out in 7 provinces centered in Kırklareli. According to the ministry's statement, legal proceedings have been initiated against 24 suspects in whose accounts a total of 2 billion 155 million TL in money movement was detected.

The operations were carried out following work conducted by the Kırklareli Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Cybercrime Combat Departments, MASAK, and the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor.

It was stated that the Kırklareli-based operations also covered Istanbul, Zonguldak, Niğde, Eskişehir, Rize, and Trabzon. It is assessed that the captured suspects facilitated illegal betting via websites and acted as intermediaries in the transfer of proceeds derived from crime.

The ministry's statement is as follows:

"In the operations organized by our Gendarmerie against the crime of 'Illegal Betting' in 7 provinces centered in Kırklareli, legal proceedings were initiated against 24 suspects who had 2 billion 155 million TL in money movement in their accounts. As a result of the work carried out by the Kırklareli Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's KOM and Cybercrime Combat Departments, MASAK, and the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor; it was determined that the suspects captured in the operations held in Kırklareli, Istanbul, Zonguldak, Niğde, Eskişehir, Rize, and Trabzon: -facilitated illegal betting via websites and -acted as intermediaries in the transfer of proceeds derived from crime. We do not allow passage to fraud networks that set their sights on the peace, security, and hard-earned money of our citizens. We continue our fight against crime and criminals with the determined struggle of our security forces and the support of our dear nation.
