Illegal dormitory and Quran course belonging to the İsmailağa community could not be demolished again
The expected demolition of the illegal dormitory and Quran course building belonging to the İsmailağa sect in the Karabağlar district of İzmir could not be carried out again. It was reported that the demolition did not take place due to a postponement letter written by the District Governorate.
The demolition of the illegal dormitory and Quran course building belonging to the İsmailağa sect, which has been on the agenda for some time in the Karabağlar district of İzmir, was supposed to take place today. The demolition did not occur due to a 'postponement' letter received from the District Governorate. It was learned that one of the reasons for the postponement of the demolition was 'the failure to provide security support to the municipal teams that went to the area.'
A statement regarding the matter came from Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay. Kınay said, “There are no security measures in the area. There are no police units. And there is a de facto situation created by unidentified individuals in the area. We are waiting for the relevant institutions to carry out the necessary work regarding this.”
The plot where the illegal dormitory and Quran course building is located, which has not yet been demolished despite a demolition order, is designated in the zoning plan as a children's playground, park, road, stream, and afforestation area. Although the Karabağlar Municipality has issued fines and taken demolition decisions multiple times, this process is blocked every time.
On June 28, demolition teams went to the area again, but the teams were blocked by individuals wearing turbans and robes, keeping watch with weapons and sticks in their hands.
The teams, who went to the area once again today, were prevented from carrying out the demolition again.
Speaking on the subject, Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay called on the authorities to do what is necessary.
