İmamoğlu's 'internal front' message: These governments look strong from the outside but are hollow inside

İmamoğlu's 'internal front' message: These governments look strong from the outside but are hollow inside

Recent developments both within Turkey and in its surrounding region make acting together even more important and necessary. Political figures have recently been issuing notable messages regarding an 'internal front'.

Most recently, Ekrem İmamoğlu also delivered an 'internal front' message through a post he shared.

Here is İmamoğlu's post:

"While our surroundings have turned into a ring of fire, we must fortify all our fronts.

To achieve this, we must be a strong country in every field. We must be a state that inspires confidence in its citizens with all its institutions, and a strong society. We need a mindset that uses its power and resources not for its own rule, but for the empowerment of every citizen living in the country.

Concepts such as partisanship, cronyism, short-termism, opportunism, and lack of merit are the ticks that deeply gnaw at all countries from within; they are the ticks of governments. These governments look strong from the outside but are hollow inside. All our institutions, primarily our education, justice system, academia, and economy, must be built on merit and be rock-solid.

We want our country to be truly strong and to be a genuine element of peace for its neighbors and the region. We believe that this can never be achieved with the current government, which is constantly chasing discord, feeds on social polarization, division, and conflict, creates artificial enemies for itself, and imprisons the rivals it cannot defeat at the ballot box.

The front we need to strengthen is the entire society, every single individual, and the people of this country, who are its most valuable resource. A success story can be written with this mindset, and the internal front can be strengthened in this way.

We will build a country where citizens of all views embrace each other tightly, focus on common goals, and where institutions and society, not individuals, are empowered."
