Imamoğlu reacts to detention of Sinem Dedetaş: They have lost hope in the ballot box
Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, issued a statement on his social media account regarding the detention of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş.
Regarding the detention of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, İmamoğlu stated, "The mentality that sets its sights on the national will has lost hope in the ballot box and is trying to hold on through the judiciary."
An operation was conducted against the Üsküdar Municipality on charges of "Bribery and Establishing and Managing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes."
In the investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Bureau, Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, Deputy Mayor Ceyhun Ünlü, Mayor's Chief of Staff Alihan Koçoğlu, architect Burçin Çevik, business agent Adem Altıntaş, and contractor Bülent Orhan Tozkoparan were detained.
In a statement on his social media account regarding the operation against the Üsküdar Municipality, İmamoğlu said, "The mentality that sets its sights on the national will with unlawful dawn raids has lost hope in the ballot box and is trying to hold on through the judiciary. But do not worry, our 86 million citizens are counting the days to send you away."
