Imamoglu shares post on the agricultural sector and farmers: We will put a stop to this
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu addressed the problems of farmers in a post on his social media account and stated that these problems would be solved under a CHP government.
Sharing his views on current events through the social media account named Presidential Candidate Office, Ekrem Imamoglu addressed the problems of farmers in his latest post.
Criticizing the government's statements that "our agricultural sector is standing tall," Imamoglu included the following remarks in his post:
What are they saying? "There is no situation where the farmer is going bankrupt or drowning in debt; thank God, our agricultural sector is standing tall."
Let us ask our farmers: Are we standing tall, or are we sinking?
Today in Turkey, farmers are paying off debt with more debt; let alone making a profit, they are grateful if they do not incur a loss.
Both the agricultural sector and our farmers are left to fend for themselves.
Our farmers are living under a heavy debt burden exceeding 1.2 trillion liras.
Our farmers go deeper into debt with every step they take in the field, greenhouse, or barn. Farmers trying to keep their fields running with debt cannot provide equity capital or make investments.
Our nation no longer wants to plant in the fields! Our villages are being abandoned; there are no young people left in the villages!
We will put a stop to this trend!
With urgent measures, we will implement a significant debt restructuring for our farmers under the burden of debt. We will restructure the credit system based on productivity. We will support the technological transformation in production with the support we will direct to Turkey's agricultural infrastructure. We will strengthen agriculture both in the field and in inventory.
By supporting the farmer, we will save Turkey's future food production capacity and food security from structural threats. We will reduce the cost of production. We will facilitate access to credit. Our farmers will feel the state behind them.
We will take steps to make our villages attractive again, turn farming into a job done with enthusiasm, and provide relief to Turkey.
The farmer will win, and Turkey will be fed!
Ne diyorlar? “Çiftçinin iflas etme, borç batağına batma gibi bir durumu yok, hamdolsun, tarım sektörümüz dimdik ayakta.”
