İmamoğlu shares post on the root causes of 'school attacks': A deep crisis

In a statement on his social media account, İmamoğlu said the following:

I once again wish God's mercy upon our children and our teacher who lost their lives in the middle school attack in Kahramanmaraş, patience to their families, and a speedy recovery to the injured.

The public order problems we are experiencing in our schools today cannot be explained merely as a security gap.

This picture is the ultimate result of the deepening injustice and impoverishment in society, and the government prioritizing its own political future over public issues.

Ensuring security in schools stands before us as an urgent need today.

However, the main problem is a deep crisis of public order that has spread throughout the entire society. The hopelessness about the future fueled by economic destruction, the corruption rotting institutions from within, and the collapse of trust in the law remain the real issues at hand.

When impunity, decay, and arbitrariness prevail at the top of the order, it is not realistic to expect peace, discipline, and security at the bottom.

We do not see this darkness as destiny.

When we look at the pure children of this country, its self-sacrificing teachers, and its families standing tall through the sweat of their brows, we see both hope and strength.

Under our administration, fear will be replaced by trust, decay by justice, and hopelessness by a renewed belief in the future.

We will have trained security personnel in schools, we will make entries and exits controlled and secure; we will assign a sufficient number of guidance counselors and psychological advisors to every school.

We will establish an approach that identifies problems before they even arise and eliminates potential dangers before they turn into crimes.

Together, we will build a Turkey where young people can see a future for themselves in this country, where the state once again trusts its citizens, and where justice and public order prevail once more.

Because beyond healing today's wounds, we are coming to build the honorable, peaceful, and fair Turkey of tomorrow with concrete steps.
