Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu thanked the millions who gathered at the Maltepe Rally Area to support him.
İmamoğlu expressed his feelings to the crowd that attended today's rally in a video he shared on his social media account. In his post, İmamoğlu said, "Thank you, Istanbul," and delivered the following message:

2 MILLION 200 THOUSAND PEOPLE ATTENDED THE RALLY
According to the statement by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, the number of people who attended the Maltepe Rally to support Ekrem İmamoğlu was recorded as 2 million 200 thousand. In addition to Istanbul residents, people from different provinces of Turkey also participated in the rally, which was organized to protest the arrest of CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Furthermore, many political parties such as TİP, DEM Party, TKP, Memleket Party, and EMEP also supported the rally. While the rally area filled up hours in advance, the Maltepe Rally Area was completely full by 12:00. Tens of thousands of people had to wait for a long time at the entrance of the area.
