First statement from IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan after the 3rd wave operation!

In the 3rd wave of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) over corruption allegations, 22 people were detained today.

The IMM investigation was first launched on March 19, and IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was detained in a dawn operation, was arrested on corruption charges on March 23 and sent to Silivri Prison. In the second wave of the operation carried out on April 29, 18 people were arrested.

GENDARMERIE ASSIGNED

While police officers carried out the detention procedures in the operations on March 19 and April 29, the gendarmerie was assigned to today's third wave operation. The detained individuals were not taken to the Vatan Security Directorate, but to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command.

While the detention of IMM Mayor İmamoğlu and numerous high-level bureaucrats continues, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan made a statement following the third wave of the operation.

In his statement, Aslan emphasized, "We are at our posts."

"Istanbul's elected Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been a prisoner for 2 months. IMM bureaucrats are prisoners. This morning, our colleagues were also detained.

We visited our Secretary General Volkan Demir and our colleagues working in the Public Relations Department. Our friends are at their posts and continue to serve Istanbul.
