115% increase in 'Marriage Support' from IMM: Here are the application requirements...

The IMM Department of Social Services has increased the "Marriage Support" payments for newlywed couples, which were 7 thousand TL, to 15 thousand TL in response to rising inflation and the economic crisis.

To date, 8 thousand 682 couples have benefited from the program, which began on April 14, 2023.

HOW TO APPLY FOR MARRIAGE SUPPORT?

Applications for "Marriage Support" can be made via the Alo 153 Solution Center, the Istanbul Senin Application, or the Social and Economic Support Online Application (sosyalyardim.ibb.gov.tr) channels.

WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRIAGE SUPPORT?

The requirements for "Marriage Support" are as follows:

• Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey
• Residing in Istanbul
• Both individuals in the couple being over 18 years of age
• Marital status being other than "married"
• Not having more than one marriage support application
• The wedding date being at most 90 days from the date of application

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK FOR MARRIAGE SUPPORT?

Following the evaluation of the application, which takes the income status of the applicants into account, the cash support is provided to the woman, regardless of whether the applicant is the man or the woman.

While it is sufficient for only one of the prospective spouses to reside in Istanbul at the time of application, the person living in Istanbul becomes the applicant. The social support need of the applicants is verified through document checks.

The cash support is deposited into the woman's bank account after the marriage has officially taken place. It is required that both individuals reside in Istanbul after the marriage has taken place.
