IMM mayoral candidate Murat Kurum answers Cüneyt Özdemir's Kanal Istanbul question. He responded to the remark, 'Will you resist Erdoğan?'

IMM Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum was also a guest on Cüneyt Özdemir's 'Gündem with Cüneyt Özdemir' program. Kurum answered questions about the current agenda there. Responding to the question about Kanal Istanbul, which İmamoğlu has particularly highlighted, Kurum stated once again that the Kanal Istanbul project is not on their agenda.

Murat Kurum: It is not. Very clearly, it is not ready at all.

Cüneyt Özdemir: You are the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate for the AK Party, which has been governing Turkey for 21 years. You started working as an expert at TOKİ in 2005.

Between 2006 and 2008, you became the European Side Implementation Branch Manager of the TOK Istanbul Implementation Department. You are involved in the work, you are in Istanbul. Between 2008 and 2018, you served as the General Manager of Emlak Konut, a subsidiary of TOKİ.

And after 2018, you spent 5 years as a minister. Why didn't you prepare Istanbul for an earthquake?

Murat Kurum: Like this. We. In 2013, our President, Law No. 6306 was accepted in our Grand National Assembly and entered into force. Since that day, we have fought for urban transformation in 81 provinces.

KURUM'S CORRECTION ON ZONING AMNESTY

Murat Kurum responded to Cüneyt Özdemir's question about the zoning amnesty by calling it a 'zoning peace.' The dialogue regarding the zoning amnesty developed as follows:

Cüneyt Özdemir: Do you regret what you did during the zoning amnesty?

Murat Kurum: We did not take any action regarding a zoning amnesty.

Cüneyt Özdemir: Didn't it come out during your ministry?

Murat Kurum: Well, it came out before me, and it is not a zoning amnesty, but a zoning peace.
