IMM steps in: Venue allocated to Metin Zakoğlu!
Comedian Metin Zakoğlu's performances had been canceled following jokes he made about Murat Kurum, the AKP candidate in the March 31 Local General Elections. IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat announced via his X account that a venue has been allocated to Zakoğlu.
IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat made a statement regarding Metin Zakoğlu, whose 5 performances at the Atatürk Cultural Center were canceled by the Ministry of Culture following a joke he made about the AKP's Istanbul candidate Murat Kurum, announcing that a venue has been allocated to him.
Polat announced the development on social media as follows:
"We are not leaving Metin Zakoğlu, whose venue contract was canceled, alone.
Our IMM venues belong to our audience and our artists. You can watch his play very soon at MetroHan, which we restored and brought back to Istanbul.
We will restore Istanbul's lost identity as a city of culture and art."
Salon sözleşmesi iptal edilen Metin Zakoğlu'nu yalnız bırakmıyoruz.
