The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has warned citizens via SMS regarding the snowfall that will last for three days in Istanbul.
The SMS message sent by the IMM to mobile phones stated the following:
Dear Istanbulites, heavy snowfall is expected to affect our city for 3 days. All our teams are on alert.
It is important not to take personal vehicles into traffic unless necessary, to use public transport, and not to use vehicles without winter tires and chains.
