Important statements from Özgür Özel following the establishment of the YENİ Party: He spoke about presidential candidates

Özgür Özel, who founded the new party by saying, "We will continue on our path without removing the Six Arrows," and was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the YENİ Party at the first meeting held at the Anadolu Club, joined a live broadcast on Halk TV wearing the YENİ Party badge.

YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the targeting of a journalist who reported on the use of extras at a badge ceremony held in Sarıyer by the "null CHP."

Stating, "It is unacceptable for our young reporter friend to be targeted," Özel spoke as follows:

"Such an attack on the journalism profession is unacceptable. Because we operate under public scrutiny. The most important duty of a journalist is to carry out this public duty. If you, as a political party, are embarking on an endeavor, that endeavor must be as transparent and realistic as you have promised the public. If there is a fabrication there, exposing it is a journalistic success. It is impossible to accept the language used after that. I am on that side of the issue; the other side is for our nation to judge."

Furthermore, Özel stated that he agreed with MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli's assessment regarding the issue: "There is no validity to halls filled without touching hearts."

"OUR GOAL IS TO BE IN POWER ALONE"

"This ruling party had targeted the new political understanding of the Republican People's Party. That new political understanding is the political understanding that brought the March 31 victory. It is a political understanding that aims for equal representation in politics, trying to bring the representation of women in the Republican People's Party to the point of equal representation at three levels. That political understanding is one that opens space for young people; that is, it does not just say 'the doors are open, come young people' in words, but in fact, 14 of the 29 municipalities won in İzmir consist of young people, and 8 consist of women. It is an understanding that opens this space to young people, and does not say to young people 'come, I am doing politics, help me,' but says 'come, let us talk about, construct, design, and realize politics together,'" said Özgür Özel, emphasizing that they would continue the same understanding in the YENİ Party and stressing that the party's goal is to be in power alone.

Responding to a question about what path they would follow if the Court of Cassation cancels the absolute nullity decision regarding the CHP, Özel said:

RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOUT MANSUR YAVAŞ AND ZEYDAN KARALAR

Özgür Özel responded to the question asked about whether Zeydan Karalar and Mansur Yavaş would join the YENİ Party.

Emphasizing that they have no doubts about Yavaş, Özel said, "Mr. Mansur had already walked with us in our former party."

Özel made striking remarks regarding Karalar. He stated that he had spoken with Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and that striking developments were taking place.

Stating that there is an ongoing trial against Karalar in the Aziz İhsan Aktaş case, Özel expressed that he had received reports that pressure was being put on Karalar, saying, "It would not be good for you if you switch to the YENİ Party."

"OVER 200 MAYORS WILL JOIN THE YENİ PARTY"

"Starting tomorrow, over 200 municipalities will express their will to join the YENİ Party," said Özel, who spoke as follows:

"Mansur Yavaş is in our former party. We did not extend an invitation to anyone. Therefore, let no one call Mayor Mansur a 'nullist.' There is a different situation for Zeydan Karalar. A decision will be made in the case against him. They are speaking insolently because they cannot get between me and Mayor Zeydan."

Speaking about the reports in the pro-government media that "Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will vote 'yes' on the summaries of proceedings prepared regarding the CHP and Özgür Özel," Özgür Özel drew attention to the fact that the news in question was published in the Türkiye newspaper.

Özel stated that the ruling wing is aware of the YENİ Party's potential and that such news is being served to frighten the nation.

While expressing that they will never forgive the "nullists," Özel emphasized that they will not allow them to try to curry favor with them when they come to power.

Stating that they plan to complete the YENİ Party congress in September, Özgür Özel stated that the YENİ Party cannot enter a possible snap election in the current situation, while expressing that they are keeping a second party in reserve. Özel said that they would not disclose the name of the party in question.

On the other hand, Özel stated that a snap election is not very likely for now, but even if it were, their own candidates would be elected by a large margin.

Responding to the question about the YENİ Party's presidential candidate, Özel emphasized that the candidate they nominate will win, while underlining that they will not fall into the mistake that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made by nominating himself in the 2023 General Elections.

Özel said, "We will not nominate a candidate who will lose; even if that candidate is the chairman. If Ekrem İmamoğlu or Mansur Yavaş had been the candidate in the 2023 General Elections, we would not be in this situation right now."

"THE NATION SHOULD DETERMINE THE CANDIDATE"

Furthermore, Özel emphasized that their current candidate is the imprisoned IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who received the votes of more than 15 million citizens.

Stating that they have a plan in case İmamoğlu's candidacy is blocked, Özel said, "The price of everything done to prevent İmamoğlu from being a candidate must be paid by Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party. Erdoğan is someone who fears his rival and has him imprisoned so that his rival cannot be a candidate, and he must pay the political price. For this reason, in the event that Mayor Ekrem cannot be a candidate, the candidate must be determined by the nation."

WILL CEMİL TUGAY JOIN THE YENİ PARTY?

YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel responded to the question of whether Cemil Tugay, who resigned from the CHP to join the newly formed party, will join the new party. Özel stated that there is no problem between him and Tugay.
