Imprisoned cancer patient Eren Odabaş files petition for treatment
Eren Odabaş, a cancer patient and administrator at the Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association Gazi Martyrs Cemevi, who was transferred to the Sincan No. 1 High-Security Closed Prison in Ankara after being arrested on February 9, has filed a petition to be transferred to a prison near Istanbul for his medical treatment.
Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD) Gazi Martyrs Cemevi administrator Eren Odabaş was detained on February 6 and arrested on February 9.
Odabaş, who is a cancer patient, was first taken to Silivri Prison. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to the Sincan No. 1 High-Security Closed Prison in Ankara.
Odabaş has filed a petition to be transferred to a prison near Istanbul to ensure access to the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine so that his cancer treatment can continue.
The Istanbul University Oncology Institute has also prepared a petition on behalf of Odabaş.
The petition, which emphasizes that receiving treatment is of vital importance for Odabaş, states: "As a general principle, because it will affect all treatment options in the patient's past treatments and follow-ups, the patient's treatment and follow-ups must be carried out in a single center (if possible, where the initial treatments were performed)."
