The 'Imralı' tour continues: DEM Party's stop today is the CHP; will there be a meeting with Erdoğan?
After meeting with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı, the DEM Party, which has been visiting political parties at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), will stop at the CHP today. The meeting between the DEM Party delegation and the CHP will begin at 10:30. To date, the DEM Party has held meetings with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, MHP leader Bahçeli, Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, the AKP Group, and Saadet Party leader Mahmut Arıkan.
Following the call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, the DEM Party, which met with the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, in Imralı on December 28, has begun its visits at the TBMM.
FIRST VISITS TO KURTULMUŞ AND BAHÇELİ
The DEM Party delegation, consisting of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, and former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk—who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee—made its first visit to Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. After Kurtulmuş, the DEM Party delegation met with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.

DEM PARTY'S STOP TODAY IS THE CHP
Having visited the Future Party, the AKP, and the Saadet Party on Monday (January 6), the DEM Party's first stop today will be the CHP. The meeting, which will also be attended by CHP leader Özgür Özel, will begin at 10:30. After the CHP, the DEM Party delegation will meet with DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan and New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) Chairman Fatih Erbakan.
DEM PARTY DISCUSSED ÖCALAN'S MESSAGE TO THE PARTY
On the other hand, it has been learned that in addition to the 7-point message sent by Abdullah Öcalan that was made public, he also sent a separate message to the DEM Party regarding the role it will play in this process.
While the DEM Party delegation continues its meetings with political parties, the DEM Party Central Executive Committee (MYK) also discussed the roadmap to be followed in the coming period in line with the message sent by Öcalan.
Speaking to BBC Turkish, a DEM Party executive stated that Öcalan gave the DEM Party a "great founding role and responsibility" regarding the "expansion of the democratic political sphere, and the enlightenment and formation of public opinion," expressing the view that it is "a message that sees the prices we have paid and our dedication, but says more is needed."
DEM Party sources stated that they will prepare an action plan in line with Öcalan's message.
WILL THERE BE A MEETING WITH ERDOĞAN?
According to the BBC, a meeting with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is not on the Imralı delegation's schedule.
It is also unclear whether such a meeting will take place in the future.
Unless concrete steps are taken, such as Öcalan issuing a "call to lay down arms" and the PKK pledging to comply, Erdoğan is not expected to hold such a meeting.
SECOND IMRALI MEETING PLANNED FOR THIS MONTH
It is planned that Buldan and Önder will compile their meetings with political parties into a report, travel to Imralı for a second time, and inform Öcalan.
According to information obtained, whether Öcalan will "issue a call to lay down arms" to the PKK will also be clarified in this meeting.
When these two individuals will go is not clear, as it depends on the permission of the Ministry of Justice.
However, the expectation within the DEM Party is that this meeting will take place in mid-January.
WHO SAID WHAT AFTER THE MEETINGS?
Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is part of the DEM Party delegation, announced after the meeting with Davutoğlu that a comprehensive statement would be shared with the public following a visit to former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne.
Önder said the following:
"Within the scope of the meetings we have conducted, we met today with the Chairman of the Future Party, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, with whom we had the opportunity to work together in the past process. We shared some past experiences. In light of the new meetings and the new point reached, we conveyed the information we have to him. We requested his advice, suggestions, criticisms, and warnings. He kindly informed us in detail. At the end of this process, we will also visit Mr. Selahattin (Demirtaş), and we will make a comprehensive statement after that."
DAVUTOĞLU EMPHASIZES 'PROVOCATION'
Davutoğlu said, "I thank the esteemed delegation. They provided information regarding the recent process. It was a very sincere meeting. We talked about what lessons should be learned from what happened in the past."
Davutoğlu said the following:
"My advice here, both to the delegation members and to all politicians in Turkey, is that the issue is to build a strong Turkey that lives in peace in the future, starting with the statements of Mr. Bahçeli (Devlet Bahçeli) and spreading to the layers of society, by acting with a cool head, being closed to provocations, respecting public order, and drawing on our deep historical knowledge, consciousness, and experience. I am sure that Turkey strengthening its own internal structure will also make a great contribution to peaceful solutions in Syria and Iraq. I hope this process proceeds in the right direction."
MEETING WITH AKP WAS "POSITIVE"
The DEM Party met with the AKP delegation led by Abdullah Güler at the TBMM yesterday (January 6) at 13:30.
Özlem Zengin and Abdullah Güler welcomed the DEM Party delegation. AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also attended the meeting.

When asked "how is the process going" as the delegation went to the AKP group, Pervin Buldan replied, "Good, not bad."
Speaking after the meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half, AKP Group Deputy Chairman Abdullah Güler said, "We had a positive conversation. We hosted them, and we will announce the details in the coming days."
THE LAST STOP WAS THE SAADET PARTY
The last stop for the DEM Party delegation was the Saadet Party. The DEM Party delegation met with Mahmut Arıkan at the Saadet Party Headquarters at 15:30.
The delegation began meeting with Mahmut Arıkan at the Saadet Party Headquarters at 15:30.
The meeting lasted about an hour. A joint press statement was held afterward.
Önder said, "We will make a comprehensive statement at the end of the process. There is nothing more important than the peace and brotherhood of this country. We will establish this, and we will do it together. There is no loser in peace."
"WE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROCESS"
Arıkan said, "I also thank you very much. This visit by the delegation made us very happy. We are going through an important process. We shared both our contributions and our concerns regarding the process with the esteemed delegation. They provided important information. We will discuss this information with our authorized bodies. We will try to support them in terms of contributing to the process in the near future."
