In prison for 42 days: Detained astrologer Hilal Saraç apologizes to Erdoğan and Bahçeli

In a statement made through her social media account, Saraç wished Bahçeli a speedy recovery and apologized for her previous posts. Apologizing to President Erdoğan and Bahçeli, Saraç stated that she stands against disrespect toward state officials. The detained astrologer requested help from 'state leaders' to reunite with her children.

Hilal Saraç was taken into custody following a post she made on her social media account on February 6. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been launched into Saraç following this post. Saraç, who was taken into custody, was arrested on the same day. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that she was arrested on the grounds that she insulted Erdoğan and Bahçeli.

Hilal Saraç, who is being held in pre-trial detention, stated in a message released after 42 days that she is requesting help from Bahçeli and Erdoğan and wants to reunite with her children. Saraç stated, ''I apologize for my previous health status predictions and posts as an astrologer regarding our esteemed state leader, MHP Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. I wish Mr. Devlet Bahçeli a speedy recovery from Almighty Allah''.

In another post, Saraç also apologized to Erdoğan and added the following:

I apologize to our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli. I would like it to be known that I am against the disrespect shown toward our state leaders. I want to reunite with my children, and I request the help of our state leaders.

In her February 6 post, where she made an astrological prediction regarding Bahçeli's health, Saraç wrote:

'I think Devlet Bahçeli should get his lungs checked. If I am the best medical astrologer in the country, which I am, he has a very serious lung problem and shortness of breath. He has very major health problems. Hide it if you want, but if I say it exists, it exists. Honestly, he won't see the election. The election will be early anyway. Anyway, I'm not brave enough to write who it is, but I think you are smart enough to understand.'

Requesting help from state leaders, Saraç said, 'I want to reunite with my children, and I request the help of our state leaders.'
