Increase in the number of closed companies!
According to data from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the number of closed companies rose by 21.4 percent, from 25 thousand 883 to 31 thousand 416.
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has announced the statistics for companies established and closed in December 2024 and for the past year.
Accordingly, the number of companies established in December 2024 increased by 1.1 percent compared to the same month in 2023, reaching 12 thousand 659. The number of closed companies in this period rose by 26.9 percent to 7 thousand 555.
When evaluated on an annual basis, the number of established companies fell by 10.2 percent compared to the previous year, dropping from 128 thousand 528 to 115 thousand 463.
The number of closed companies rose by 21.4 percent, from 25 thousand 883 to 31 thousand 416.
Accordingly, in December of last year, compared to the previous month, the number of established companies increased by 25.4 percent and the number of sole proprietorships increased by 39 percent, while the number of cooperatives decreased by 10.1 percent.
In the same period, the number of closed companies increased by 187.2 percent, the number of cooperatives by 282.4 percent, and the number of sole proprietorships by 97.5 percent.
While the number of established companies increased by 1.1 percent last month compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 7 percent and the number of cooperatives by 28.2 percent.
During this period, while the number of closed companies increased by 26.9 percent and the number of cooperatives by 37.3 percent, the number of sole proprietorships declined by 30.3 percent.
