Individual who recited a poem in a street interview and 'Kendine Muhabir' arrested
Halil Kürklü, who recited a poem criticizing the government during a street interview, and Hasan Köksoy, known as "Kendine Muhabir" (Reporter for Himself), who shared the video, have been arrested. According to a report in Takvim, Köksoy and Kürklü were detained on charges of Insulting the President (Article 299 of the Turkish Penal Code) and Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility or Degrading (Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code).
Announcing the decision on his social media account, Lawyer Cemil Çiçek stated, "Journalist Hasan Köksoy, whom we know asKendine Muhabir, has unfortunately been arrested and sent to prison.The grounds for the arrest are insulting the President and inciting the public to hatred and enmity.

Charges against Kocabıyık include "Insulting the President, insulting a publicofficial due to their duty,crimes committed againstAtatürk, and inciting thepublic to hatred andhostility."inciting the public to hatred and enmity or degrading, and opposition to the Industrial Property Law," it was alleged that they hadcriminal records for various offenses.
