The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is resuming its legislative activities following the nine-day holiday.
According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün; the AKP will finalize the Animal Rights Law, which proposes the culling of stray animals.
WHAT IS ON THE TABLE?
The legislative proposal will be submitted to the TBMM Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Affairs. Once committee deliberations are complete, the proposal will be sent to the General Assembly. The Ninth Judicial Package, which has sparked controversy over its "influence agent" regulation, is also among the proposals expected to reach the TBMM. A regulation proposing to tax everything from A to Z will also be addressed by the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee.
ANIMAL RIGHTS LAW
It has been alleged that the controversial legislative proposal, which envisions the euthanasia of stray dogs, has also caused unrest within the AKP.
While it is understood that President Erdoğan has sought the opinions of his staff in both broad and narrow-scope meetings, it is reported that the prevailing view, contrary to what has been announced to the public, is in favor of the animals.
JUDICIAL PACKAGE
The Ninth Judicial Package, which has caused "influence agent" debates between the government and the opposition and has sparked significant public backlash due to its proposed regulations, is also expected to be submitted to Parliament. While the opposition claims, "The scope of the Influence Agent regulation will be expanded," the government defends the view that "no such thing will be included in the regulation."
TAX REGULATIONS
Among the controversial proposals planned to be brought to the TBMM is the tax package described as the "most comprehensive tax package of the last 20 years." It is noted that the package, which includes a veritable rain of taxes in every field from real estate to cryptocurrency trading, and from corporate taxes to overseas departure fees, will cause major debates in the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee.
FOREST FIRES
It is stated that the forest fires, which have increased with the hot weather, and the delays in responding to these fires will also be brought to the agenda of the TBMM.
In this context, the CHP plans to submit a research motion to "investigate the causes of forest fires" and "investigate the delays in responding to forest fires."
COMMITTEE AGENDAS
Two committees will meet in the TBMM during the week of June 24. Google representatives will also attend the Digital Channels Committee, which will meet on June 25.
Committee members will be informed about the institution's work.
On June 26, members of the Human Rights Investigation Committee will meet. Representatives from the Ministry of Health will make a presentation to the committee regarding the health services provided to convicts and detainees.
