Initial footage of the hotel fire in Uludağ emerges: National skier loses his life

1. Investigations and the inquiry into the fire that broke out in the morning at a hotel in the Hotels Zone are ongoing.

Security camera footage from the hotel shows a group of 6-7 people, including the Usta family, eating in front of a fireplace in the cafeteria section.

The camera recordings show these individuals leaving the cafeteria section after a while, and at 05:22, the flames begin when an ornamental plant located next to the fireplace catches fire.

In the footage, it is understood that the flames in the cafeteria, which was covered in smoke in a short time, grew within 2-3 minutes.

A fire broke out at a hotel in Uludağ in the morning, and the fire was extinguished by 110 personnel dispatched to the region from various public institutions and organizations upon notification.

In the fire, Yahya Usta, President of the Turkish Ski and Snowboard Instructors Association and a former national skier, his wife Fikriye, and their son, national skier Berkin Usta (25), were affected by smoke. Yahya Usta and his son Berkin, who were removed from the hotel unconscious, could not be saved despite medical intervention.

Fikriye Usta, whose life is in danger, was transferred to Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital. As part of the investigation launched following the incident, the hotel manager was taken into custody.
