Inspections tightened after Bolu fire tragedy! 13 hotels and guesthouses sealed in Gökçeada
Following the hotel tragedy in Bolu, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism sent an 'urgent' letter to the governorships of all 81 provinces to identify and seal unlicensed and undocumented accommodation facilities. A total of 13 hotels and guesthouses were sealed during inspections in Çanakkale.
Çanakkale Deputy Governor Abdül Kadir Duran, Gökçeada District Governor Nurbaki Yalçın, Gökçeada Mayor Bülent Ecevit Atalay, along with municipal police and police teams, inspected hotels and businesses found to have missing documentation.

ALL WERE SEALED
Hotel and guesthouse owners were informed prior to the sealing process. Municipal police teams carried out the sealing by posting documents on the doors of the hotels and guesthouses stating, 'It has been determined that your business has not obtained a tourism operation certificate.'

During the inspections, a total of 13 hotels and guesthouses were sealed: 3 in Çınarlı Neighborhood, 5 in Yeni Bademli, 2 in Uğurlu village, 2 in Fatih Neighborhood, and 1 in Eşelek village.

Last week, 57 businesses in Ayvacık and 36 in Bozcaada had been sealed.
