Interesting banner from a village headman candidate: 'I am on the side of the rich, not the poor'

A banner hung by 43-year-old Zafer Fison, a candidate for the village headmanship of Taşlık village in the Görele district of Giresun, has become the center of attention. The text on the banner hung by Fison, a father of three who makes a living as a farmer in the village, reading "I am a candidate for the salary. I am on the side of the rich, not the poor," has captured the interest of citizens.

"I WANTED TO MAKE A POINT"

Stating that the banner is actually just an irony, Fison said, “Regardless of which politician it is, they make empty promises to the poor and those in need, and then forget all their promises once they win the election. Those who say their goal is not the headman's salary also just take their salary and forget about providing service. I wanted to make a point against those who want to use the hopes of the poor and the needy for political gain. Those who understand this know that my goal is not really to be on the side of the rich, not the poor. I used irony so that those who become candidates do not give hope to the poor and then disappoint them,” he stated.
