Interior Minister Çiftçi: 2,763 control and search points removed as part of 'Terror-Free Turkey'

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that they have ended the use of a total of 2,763 control and search points—2,560 operated by the Police and 203 by the Gendarmerie—as part of the second resolution process defined by the government as "Terror-Free Turkey."

Minister Çiftçi's statement is as follows:

"As the Ministry of Interior, in line with our goal of a Terror-Free Turkey, we have ended the use of a total of 2,763 control and search points, 2,560 of which were operated by the Police and 203 by the Gendarmerie.

We had previously shared with the public that, through persuasion efforts conducted since the beginning of the year, a total of 134 PKK/BTÖ members, including 2 in the Gray category and 1 in the Yellow category, have surrendered to our security forces.

Under the leadership of our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are moving forward with determination toward our goal of a Terror-Free Turkey by further strengthening the unity and solidarity of our nation."
