Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi visited the AKP Erzurum Provincial Headquarters. Expressing that he was extremely pleased to be in Erzurum, Minister Çiftçi said, "I am saying this with all my heart, I feel like I am at home right now. Because I served here in Erzurum for two and a half years."

I have been appointed to a ministry that is truly very difficult and requires responsibility. I mean, every duty is difficult when you want to fulfill it properly, but the Ministry of Interior is uniquely difficult."

I have been in this organization for 29 years. I am currently working in my 30th year. There is the General Directorate of Security, the gendarmerie organization, the coast guard, population, migration, and AFAD all at once. Each of these are places that have the status of a separate ministry. You know, when Abu Bakr was chosen for duty after our Prophet passed away, he used the following expression in his first sermon: 'O people, I have been chosen to lead you even though I am not the best among you. If I am on the path of goodness, support me and help me. If I am on the path of evil, warn me and set me straight.'" he said.

Stating that he had a request from the citizens, Minister Çiftçi said, "If we remain on the path of goodness in this important duty, please do not withhold your prayers from me. Our connection has continued since our political days, since the days we were students in political science. I hope and believe that he will be instrumental in very beautiful and auspicious services.
