Yerlikaya stated the following:
"In Sinop and Istanbul, within the scope of 'Operation Cage', 2 separate criminal organizations known as the 'Uzuner' and 'Pelit Gang' have been dismantled!
I want my dear nation to know that no matter their size, we will not give any breathing room to organized crime groups and gangs that disturb the peace of our families, with the prayers and support of our nation!
Uzuner Criminal Organization: 14 suspects were apprehended in simultaneous operations conducted in 3 provinces, centered in Sinop, including Trabzon and Istanbul. 13 gang members were arrested. A judicial control decision was issued for 1 gang member.
Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command and the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, an operation was carried out by the Sinop Provincial Gendarmerie Command against the members of the Organized Crime Organization known as Uzuner, led by Necati Kerim Uzuner, which included 8 criminal organization executives.
Simultaneous operations were carried out against 14 suspects in our 3 provinces of Sinop, Trabzon, and Istanbul to apprehend the suspects.
It was determined that they called our citizens from numbers similar to bank customer service numbers, introduced themselves as customer representatives to defraud them, and converted the money they obtained into cryptocurrency.
A total of 153 bank accounts belonging to 8 suspects, which were determined to have a transaction volume of 40 million Turkish Liras, were seized by the court during the operation.
Pelit Criminal Organization: 25 suspects were apprehended in operations conducted in Istanbul!
An operation was carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command against the members of the organized crime organization known as the Pelit Gang, led by Rıfat Albayrak.
A simultaneous operation was carried out against 25 suspects who were determined to have committed the crimes of Bribery, Qualified Fraud, and Violation of the Forest Law in an organized manner by selling land they cleared by cutting down trees in forested areas to citizens using illegally prepared documents. Their judicial proceedings are ongoing.
As a result of the operations;
15 unlicensed pistols, a large amount of gold believed to be obtained from crime, and a high amount of foreign currency and cash were seized.
I congratulate our heroes who organized the operations. May God protect you. The prayers of our dear nation are with you.
We are keeping track of the gangs.
None of them will be able to escape the supreme Turkish justice!
