Interior Minister Yerlikaya announces on social media: Tons of drugs seized
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that 5 people were apprehended in İnegöl, and 8 people in Istanbul, Diyarbakır, and Gaziantep as part of the 'Narkogüç' (Narcotics Power) operations, and that a very large quantity of drugs was seized.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized in his statement on his social media account that the operations will continue to increase and that drug dealers will not be given any breathing room.
Minister Yerlikaya stated the following:
Within the scope of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Division, 1 ton 237 kg of methamphetamine was seized in operations conducted in the Sultanbeyli and Pendik districts, as well as in İnegöl with the support of the Bursa Narcotics Crimes Division. 5 suspects were apprehended.
Narkogüç operations were carried out in the rural areas of Lice and in Gaziantep by the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie and Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Commands to cut off the financial resources of the Separatist Terrorist Organization (BTÖ).
2 tons 650 kilograms of cannabis, 3 million 450 thousand cannabis plants, 1 million 200 thousand skunk plants, and
121 kg of skunk (in Gaziantep) were seized. 8 suspects were apprehended in the operation.
