New figures on returns to Syria from Interior Minister Yerlikaya: 35,114 Syrians in 21 days

Yerlikaya answered questions on NTV. Stating that there have been nearly 1,700 returns to Syria per day following the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria, Minister Yerlikaya announced that 35,114 Syrians have voluntarily returned to their homeland in 21 days.

Highlights from Minister Yerlikaya's statements:

309,819 law enforcement officers will be on duty for the New Year. Security measures for the New Year will continue for 3 days. In the last two months, 295,000 liters of counterfeit alcohol were seized, and 25 people were arrested.

"RETURNS ARE PRIMARILY TO ALEPPO"

We stood on the right side of history in Syria. There are 4 million 156 thousand foreigners in Turkey with legal residency rights.

They began to return voluntarily, safely, with dignity, and in an orderly manner after December 8. 35,114 Syrians returned to their homeland in 21 days. There are nearly 1,700 returns per day. The daily average of returns between December 9 and December 29 is 1,672. In total, 775,117 Syrians have returned voluntarily.

Currently, returns are primarily to Aleppo.

Citizenship was not granted to those born in Turkey.

An immigration office will be opened in Damascus. We will provide all kinds of educational support to institutions in Damascus. Returns will increase when schools go on break.

ON ARRESTS AND SEIZURES

Combating irregular migration is an activity that takes up a lot of our energy. We have achieved great success against human smuggling. We have arrested 7,626 people. We have seized 8,431 vehicles.

We are no longer a target country for migration.

"214 TERRORIST ACTS PREVENTED"

We will end terrorism at its source. Terrorism inside the country has reached the point of ending. We have neutralized 1,425 terrorists inside the country in the last 1.5 years. 214 terrorist acts were prevented.

FIGHT AGAINST CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS

The fight against organized crime organizations requires a lot of patience. 6,438 people have been arrested.

President Erdoğan's instruction, "I do not want a single bandit in our cities," is our guide. We do not recognize any power greater than the will of the state.

ARMED ATTACKS BY MOTORCYCLE

Attacks by motorcycle are a rising trend globally as well. Between January 1 and December 27, 2023, there were 1,653 incidents. 48 people lost their lives in these incidents. Between January 1 and December 27, 2024, there were 411 incidents. 28 people lost their lives. We have reduced motorcycle attacks by 70 percent.

USE OF FAKE SIRENS

After the new law, the use of fake sirens has decreased by 70 percent.
