Interior Minister Yerlikaya said he was 'captured and brought from Georgia'... but he surrendered voluntarily 1 month ago

It has emerged that the suspect named O.R.Y., whom Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya recently announced as having been "captured and brought from Georgia," actually surrendered to Turkey voluntarily a month ago. According to a report by journalist İsmail Saymaz, the individual in question arrived at the Sarp Border Gate, crossed the border, and surrendered, and has been in prison for a month.

WHAT DID YERLİKAYA SAY?

In a social media post, Yerlikaya announced that nine of the criminals were brought from Georgia, two from Germany, and three from Armenia, Croatia, and Montenegro.

One of those listed was O.R.Y.

In his post, Yerlikaya stated: "The individual named O.R.Y., who was wanted internationally with a red notice for the crime of robbery, was captured in Georgia... and his extradition to our country was ensured."

MINISTRY CONFIRMED

Interior Ministry officials also confirmed the incident.

A ministry official stated: "O.R.Y. surrendered, but once a red notice was issued for him, he became psychologically unable to live or find shelter in Georgia. That is why he came to the border, and they picked him up at the gate. He would not have come if a red notice had not been issued. They have no intention of surrendering voluntarily. The police are already tracking their every move."
