The Ministry of Interior has issued a statement informing the public regarding the claims made in an article by journalist Saygı Öztürk, published in Sözcü newspaper under the headline "The person who called me said I am Yeşil."

In the information provided by the Ministry, it was stated that Öztürk was called through three separate phone conversations on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. According to the statement, the first call lasted 1 minute and 59 seconds, the second call lasted 15 minutes, and the third call lasted 13 minutes and 34 seconds.

Investigations revealed that the calls in question were made by an inmate named C.A. from an open prison, whose name was not disclosed.

The Ministry of Interior also shared that the person who made the call has a criminal record for "homicide, intentional injury, and property damage."

"On December 11, 2025, a media report titled 'The person who called me said I am Yeşil' was published. It has been determined that the individual called the newspaper's switchboard number 3 times on December 9, 2025. The first call lasted 1 minute and 59 seconds, the second call lasted 15 minutes, and the 3rd call lasted 13 minutes and 34 seconds. In the efforts to identify the person, it was determined that the call was made from an open prison and that the caller was an inmate named C.A. The individual has a criminal record for 'homicide, intentional injury, and property damage.' Respectfully announced to the public."
