Interview crisis: Call for justice regarding teacher appointments from IYI Party's Zorlu

İYİ Party Ankara Deputy Kürşad Zorlu voiced his criticisms regarding the delay in interview results for teacher appointments.

Speaking at a press conference in Parliament, Zorlu stated that the 50 percent interview rule implemented by the Ministry of National Education for teacher recruitment is contrary to the law.

Zorlu criticized the Ministry of National Education for evaluating oral interview scores alongside KPSS scores in its interview system, stating that this practice is illegal and that they have held various meetings on the matter. However, emphasizing that the Ministry has not taken a step back on this issue, Zorlu said that they have taken the interview practice to the judiciary and requested a stay of execution.

Stating that the court has not responded to this request despite approximately two months having passed, Zorlu noted the following:

“Yet, our request for a stay of execution should have been decided upon urgently in the face of this practice, which will cause irreparable harm. The interviews, which began at the beginning of July, have ended. However, the interview results have not been announced for days. The Ministry is likely not announcing them because it sees the danger of the judiciary issuing a decision to cancel the practice. Do not cause a new injustice. Announce the interview results immediately."

Zorlu also stated that the practice of providing one free meal to preschool students should continue. Expressing that they have received numerous complaints regarding nursing homes, Zorlu stated that the number of nursing homes is gradually decreasing and that thousands of citizens are waiting in line to be placed in these institutions, emphasizing that this problem must be solved as soon as possible.
