Invasive pufferfish poisons family of 7: One in critical condition
In the İskenderun district of Hatay, 7 people from the same family, including 2 children, were hospitalized after consuming a pufferfish caught from the sea. Following initial treatment, the individuals were transferred to Adana.
The incident occurred in the Numune neighborhood of İskenderun district. According to the information obtained, Mufit Aslan consumed a pufferfish he caught from the sea with his family.
Shortly after, 7 people, including 2 children, began to feel ill and were taken to İskenderun State Hospital.
Following initial treatment there, the individuals were transferred to Adana. It was learned that one of the individuals is in critical condition.
Stating that 7 people from the same family were hospitalized after consuming the pufferfish his father caught, Doğan Aslan said, "5 adults and 2 children were poisoned. My father caught the fish. He would catch and bring fish like this. He didn't know it was poisonous. They are transferring them to Adana."
