Investigation launched into doctor who told patient 'I do not examine exhibitionists and the naked': At Konya Meram State Hospital

At Konya Meram State Hospital, a doctor refused to examine a young woman because she was wearing a crop top, claiming she was "naked and exposing herself." It has also emerged that at the same hospital, another patient was turned away from an examination for chewing gum.

In the incident brought to light by journalist Zeki Dursun from Konya, Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Uysal, the IHH Konya Provincial President, accused a young woman of being 'naked' due to her clothing and refused to examine her.

The incident occurred when a young woman went to Konya Meram State Hospital for an eye examination.

IHH Konya Provincial President Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Uysal dismissed the young woman who wanted to be examined from his office with the words, "I do not examine the naked who expose themselves," due to the crop top she was wearing.

The person who reported the incident alleged that the same thing had happened before and called on authorities to take action.

NOT UYSAL'S FIRST INCIDENT

This is not the first incident involving Dr. Uysal. Three years ago, he targeted women with sexist and discriminatory remarks on his social media account.

Uysal, who targeted women over their clothing choices, had stated, "Women are both the weakest and the strongest part of society. Even in Konya, types have emerged with their midriffs, half their breasts, shoulders, and 80% of their thighs exposed. Isn't this exhibitionism, 'selling body imagery'? Isn't the path to selling one's body the path to whoredom? Concubines did not cover up. Are these concubines!"

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The Konya Governor's Office announced on its social media account that an investigation has been launched into the doctor. The statement read, "Press Release: There have been news reports and posts in some media outlets regarding a doctor working at a hospital in our province who 'did not examine a patient because he did not like their clothing.' An investigation has been launched into the relevant official. Respectfully announced to the public."
