Investigation into Libyan military plane crash deepens: Pilot's final communication revealed

The Falcon 50 type private jet, registered with the Malta Civil Aviation, issued an emergency signal shortly after taking off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport bound for Tripoli. 

At 20:31, the pilot reported an emergency with a 'PAN-PAN' call, and two minutes later, activated the '7700' code, the highest emergency status. 

The pilot's final words were 'The malfunction is critical,' and all contact with the aircraft was lost at 20:38.

Initial assessments following the crash are focusing on the possibility of a technical failure. It is believed that issues within the electrical system affected the gyroscope, which provides the aircraft's balance and directional data. Experts note that such malfunctions can pose a major danger, especially during night flights.

BLACK BOX AND VOICE RECORDINGS TO BE EXAMINED

During the search and recovery operations at the crash site, the cockpit voice recorder and the black box were recovered to determine the cause of the accident. It has been announced that these devices will be examined in a neutral country. 

Additionally, security camera footage from Esenboğa Airport and samples taken from the fuel tanker are being evaluated as part of the investigation.

WORK OF THE DELEGATION FROM LIBYA

Following the crash, a 17-member delegation from the Libyan Ministries of Defense and Interior arrived in Ankara to conduct investigations. 

Relatives of the deceased Libyan military delegation have also arrived in Turkey and are awaiting DNA matching at the Council of Forensic Medicine for the identification of the bodies.

The Libyan Government of National Unity declared 3 days of national mourning following the crash, and flags were flown at half-mast at the Libyan Embassy in Ankara. This tragic event has caused deep sorrow between the two countries.
