Investigation launched against journalist Fatoş Erdoğan for 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility'

An investigation has been launched on charges of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility" against journalist Fatoş Erdoğan, who filmed and shared on her X account the police intervention in front of the CHP Provincial Headquarters following the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the 38th Ordinary CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress, which led to the removal of Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik and the current administration from office and the appointment of Gürsel Tekin as a trustee.

Fatoş Erdoğan provided her statement regarding the matter at the Vatan Police Headquarters alongside lawyer Elif Ergin from the Journalists Union of Turkey (TGS). 

Fatoş Erdoğan had announced that she was struck by three plastic bullets during the police intervention on September 8, which occurred as Gürsel Tekin attempted to enter the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters, and that this resulted in bruises on various parts of her body.

In a post on her X account, Erdoğan stated, "I returned home from today's police intervention with three plastic bullet bruises! My hair is covered in tear gas! This is what I have left from two days of covering the #CHPİstanbul Provincial Headquarters resistance!"
