The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation due to the remarks Özel made to members of the press regarding the court panel following the first hearing of the case file numbered 2025/318 E., which was heard at the Istanbul 40th High Criminal Court's Marmara Penal Execution Institution complex.
It was stated that the investigation initiated by the prosecutor's office will be conducted under the charge of "insult" within the scope of Articles 125/1, 2, 3-a, 4, and 5 of the Turkish Penal Code. It was reported that the legal process regarding the incident is ongoing.
