The Üsküdar District Governorate announced that an investigation has been initiated following footage suggesting that men and women performed tarawih prayers in the same row at the Valide-i Cedid Mosque.
In a statement made via the Üsküdar District Governorate's social media account, the following expressions were included:
"In the assessment conducted, it was observed that there was high interest from female congregants in our mosque, that an additional section was created inside the mosque with a screen due to the insufficiency of the area allocated to them, that male and female congregants were provided the opportunity to worship separately from each other, and that necessary measures have been taken to prevent such and similar negative images from occurring."
