In a statement on his social media account, Şahin noted that there is no issue with practicing free journalism in Turkey as long as ethical principles are followed.
Ebubekir Şahin stated the following in his announcement:
"Despite all our warnings, we regret to see that this rude gesture made on TV 100 screens actually reveals the intentions behind the scenes of some, and that the issue is never about journalism. Our Supreme Council has launched an investigation regarding this immoral act directed at our public, and will take the necessary action at the first meeting regarding the report to be prepared."
